Planning a wedding is not an easy task, we know that!

That’s why we want to help you plan your own.
On this article, you’ll find some valuable tips of making a great schedule that will certainly help you with the task you have ahead of you.
Define the type of ceremony and reception you’d like to have for your wedding:
Do you want to get married at night or during the day?
Do you prefer a wedding in the countryside, beach or an urban venue?
Do you want to host a party or just a formal reception?
An intimate wedding or a big one?
Indoors or outdoors?
Choose the date for your wedding:
The time of year should be considered: June, July and August are the busiest months, which means it is more expensive to get married during this period.
Watch the weather: If you’re planning a wedding outdoors, for example, avoid the months with high probability of rain.
Calculate your budget:
Set a budget considering your income and the help you might have from others, like your parents.
Set a goal of monthly savings to reach your desired value.
Do you know where you will live?
If you don’t know where you’ll live yet, it is time to make a decision whether you will rent or buy a property. If you already have a home, you can start thinking If you want to renovate the place.
Book the venues:
It’s time to make a decision where your wedding will take place (church, venues). It may seem far in advance, but the nicest places have busy schedules.
Begin researching suppliers:
Make a list of Wedding Photographers, musicians, florists, hairdressers, etc you like best and compare the quality of their services.
Go to some tastings and set the menu to be serve on your wedding day. Take into consideration the price but also the quality of the product that will be served.
Write the first draft of the guest list:
The number of guests has a huge influence on some services, such as the food. To have a well balanced budget, you’ll need to know the costs per person in your wedding list.
Start planning your honeymoon:
Think about different destinations. Consider the time of year and your budget. Bear in mind that sometimes the time of the year you’ll get married is not the best time for a romantic honeymoon in your favourite destination. Perhaps it might be better to plan your honeymoon some months after your wedding.
Hire the main wedding services:
Photography and videography, church and venues, decoration and florist, buffet, musicians for the ceremony and reception… Pay attention to contracts and check references of suppliers.
It’s time for the special invitations:
Bridesmaids, best man, ushers flower girls and pageboys. They need time to get prepared too. Some very young children sometimes get scared on the big day. Inviting children over 4 years old can be a very good idea to have everything the way you dreamed for your wedding.
Begin researching dresses:

If you choose an international destination, check passports , visas and vaccinations.
Start paying more attention to your self care:
Think about what you eat, daily hours of sleep and exercise – everything needs to be beautiful on your wedding day, including you. If you wish to make some cosmetic treatment, this is the time to start it. Remember: a regular physical activity helps maintain the good look and eliminates stress.
Make a decision on your invitations:
Do not forget to order 20% more in the case of last-minute guests. If you have guests coming from other cities, send them a Save the Date card, so they can plan their trip in advance.
Order your bouquet and the bridesmaids.
Set the menu and the drinks to be served:
Take into consideration the price but also the quality of the product that will be served. If the budget is tight, do not be afraid to opt for a reception without fine dining food. What really matters in your wedding is the great moment among friends and family. Even the option of having just a cake with champagne can become unforgettable.
Order the cake, if not included in package of the food.
Finalise the guest list:
Make a spreadsheet with names, addresses and telephone numbers of all guests. Doing this, everything will be more clear to you when they start confirming their attendance to your wedding.
Begin to deliver the wedding invitations:
Start with the guests who live in other cities. They need more time to plan their travel.
At this time, you must have your first dress rehearsal:
Enjoy them all and do not be shy if you do not like something. The time to ask for any change is now.
Time to buy the rings (If you haven’t).
Set the clothes of the groom, the ring bearer and bridesmaids:
Also, ask the bridesmaids and groomsmen about their preferences regarding costumes. Be very careful not to impose too many rules and creating an unpleasant atmosphere. Tip: children grow up in a short time, so be careful with the measurements.
Calculate the quantities and order the wedding favours and Thank You cards.
Book the trials of hair and makeup.
Documents for the marriage should be in hands:
Sometimes it’s necessary to arrange some new documents and copies that can take some time to be ready. Do not let it for the last minute.
Book the transportation:
Decide how you will arrive at the ceremony and hire the car or ask for a relative or closest friend to take you.
Book the bus or other transportation for your guests if this is the case.
Choose accessories that you will wear on the day:
Crowns, bracelets, tiaras earrings… everything needs to mach with your perfect wedding dress.
Send invitations in the post:
If you still have some wedding invitations to send, this is the time. Even those guest who live around need some time to prepare for a wedding.
Do you know where to spend your wedding night?
If opt for a hotel for your wedding night, book the hotel ASAP.
Buy those drinks you want to serve on your wedding day that are not included in the buffet.
Have your rings polished:
If you are not buying new rings, take those you are wearing to be polished.
Define the special songs for the day:
Remember to hand in the musicians / DJs a list if those songs that can’t be missed during the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception including the one for your first dance.
Buy all the accessories of the bride:
Shoes, lingerie, pantyhose and that special lingerie for the wedding night.
Time for the last trials:
It’s time for the last hair and makeup trials and you should finish the last adjustments on your wedding dress as well.
Review the important details of your wedding with the professionals involved in your day, like wedding photographers, wedding videographers, florists and toast master.
Check the RSVP.
Book a rehearsal of the ceremony with parents, groomsmen, bridesmaids and pageboys, specially if there are special details you’re planning for your wedding ceremony or party.
Make sure you’ve delivered all the invitations.
Keep track of all the gifts you’ve received to send a thank you card.
Have a professional skin cleansing:
It’s very important to have it in advance, after all, you won’t want skin marks on your face on your wedding day.
Wear the chosen shoes to soften.
Confirm all the reservations for hotels and flights for the honeymoon.
If you are going to live in a new house, start moving.
Confirm all services contracted:
From the car that will take you to the ceremony to the florists. Do not forget any services here.
The groom must check his details as well:
Your groom must have his hair cut and check his clothes and his ushers’s as well.
Shop for the new home:
Avoid perishable products and think on the number of days you’ll be out on your honeymoon.
Get your dress:
By this time, your dressmaker should have finish all the adjustments on your wedding dress and you must have it in hands.
Deliver the clothes:
Flower girls, pageboys and bridesmaids must have their clothes with them as well.
Pack for the honeymoon:
Prepare your suitcase and have all the documents you may need for your trip stored in a safe place – a place you won’t forget.
Pack for the wedding night:
Pack a small bag for the wedding night and remember to include some cash for any eventuality.
Avoid doing anything related to the wedding. It’s been some time you’re planning this wedding. It is time to rest your body and mind for the big day.
Avoid heavy meals and alcoholic beverages.
Sleep as much as possible.
Do not skip meals, however, opt for light food.
Leave all your worries behind and enjoy your wedding – from the preparation to the end of the party. Your big day has arrived!
